訂婚程序中有關喜餅的部份: 男方送的聘禮，一般來說，女方只收一部份，另外女方則回贈男方幾項禮品，同時亦讓男方攜回幾盒喜餅及禮香、禮蠋、禮炮一份。
回禮完後，訂婚禮大功告成，此時女方燃鞭炮，男女雙方互賀結成親家。女方送客後將喜餅分贈親朋好友，習俗上新娘不可吃自己的喜餅。男方回家後要行告祖禮，告知已完成行聘納采之禮，並將女方回敬之喜餅分享親友。
